Bridging Borders, Breaking Blindness

Funder: Global Institute for Disease Elimination

Bridging Borders, Breaking Blindness is a 12-month initiative implemented by Nigeria Health Watch and funded by GLIDE. Operating in Kaduna and Cross River States, it aims to accelerate onchocerciasis elimination by integrating efforts with malaria, lymphatic filariasis, and WASH programs. The project utilizes community-led advocacy via established Hubs, the “Voices from the River” storytelling series, and high-level policy dialogues. Key activities include training CBO representatives, conducting bilateral meetings with Cameroonian officials, and launching media campaigns to reach 3,000 community members. It seeks to demonstrate a sustainable, replicable elimination model.
