Our Story

Nigeria Health Watch uses informed advocacy and communication to influence health policy and seek better health and access to healthcare in Nigeria. We seek to amplify some of the great work happening in the health sector, challenge the bad, and create a space for positive ideas and action. Through its various platforms, Nigeria Health Watch provides informed commentary and in-depth analysis of health issues in Nigeria, always in good conscience. We are not afraid to take on the difficult topics that many commentators choose to ignore. Our reach is wider than ever and our “voice” is recognised across the sector as a strong advocate for the improvement of the health of our people.
Why it Matters...
Health issues remain a mystery to most Nigerians and hardly feature in the media. People lack the information to choose effective health services or demand for quality improvement. While the Nigerian population has become ever more sophisticated in demanding and driving improvement in the banking, telecommunications and other sectors, this is not the cases in the health sector. We believe that the major reason for this is a lack of usable information. There are no specialised providers of information, news and knowledge aimed at meeting the health information needs of Nigerians; for health professionals as well as industry in Nigeria. Through our different platforms, we deliver high quality, thoroughly researched reporting on health. We use the power of stories to put a face to the health issues that affect peoples’ lives.
